Georgetown California [28 September 2007]

Thanks for posting the history of Georgetown -- it made me wish I had some (known) relatives there! Just FYI, in order to make sure people don't miss each other due to calling the same place by slightly different names, we have a standard place-naming convention here, going from smallest to largest. So the standard WeRelate name for Georgetown is Georgetown, El Dorado, California, United States. I have taken the liberty of copying and pasting the history text you posted onto that page. If you have more (one can always hope), just make sure you post it on the standard-named page for whatever community is involved. (Most places, in the US at least, should already have pages here.) Standardized names are kind of a hassle at first (I never put "United States" on US places in my own database, for instance) but it should save much bigger hassles down the road.
