Calkins information [12 November 2011]

Willis N. Calkins was my uncle Bill. I am the son of Carroll Chandler Calkins (his brother) who died in 1981. I have cousins in Kansas and Wisconsin who are sons of Uncle Don and am in contact with other cousins as well. Robert Royse records found on Familysearch.org [4 September 2013]

Hi Calkins1931 I have been researching the Calkins/Royse line. I am a Stiles by birth. Ruth Calkins (Calcings....such confusion about the name) married Nathan Stiles. Their son Robert is my 5 X great grandfather. I came across the following information on Familysearch.org:

England Marriages 1538-1973 Robert Royse married Mary Jugkson 8 April 1627 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England

Mary Royse Christened 10 July 1631 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England Father: Robert Royse Mother: not given

John Royse Christened 21 April 1633 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England Father: Robert Royse Mother: Mary

Sara Royse Christened 8 February 1634 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England Father: Robert Royse

Nehemiah Royse Christened 30 May 1637 Stamford, Lincoln, England Father: Robert Royse Mother: Mary

Joshua Royce Christened 16 April 1637 Boston, Suffolk, Mass Father: Robert Royce

Nathaniel Royce Christened 24 March 1639 Boston, Suffolk, Mass Father: Robert Royce

Robert Royse Christened 6 January 1603 Exning, Suffolk, England Father: Henry Royse

I cannot find birth or baptismal records for Samuel Royse (Royce), Isaac or Ruth. I'm wondering if Mary may be part of Ruth's name? I know Joshua & Mary don't fit with the names but people sometimes use their middle names. I am wondering if the wife Mary may be Mary Ann? I will continue researching. Let me know your opinion please.

Thank you, your very distant cousin :D Julie--JulesLonghurstStiles 23:26, 3 September 2013 (EDT)

Relation [10 December 2020]

Hello,

My name is Braden Calkins of Troy, PA. I was looking for information on my family and came across this site. It is extremely interesting to me and very neat that there is information all the way back to our family coming to Connecticut and even all the way back to England. Moses moved from Connecticut to the Troy, PA area in the late 1700's (approx. 1795) and his son started a farm in 1818 in Troy which has been in the family since. My great great grandfather was Thomas Alfred Calkins the first who at one time owned the farm and is how I found this page. My great grandfather, Thomas Alfred Calkins II passed away in 2013. He left the farm and started a car dealership in Troy in 1948. My father is actually Thomas Alfred Calkins IV. I wanted to connect to see who I could find and where our family is at today. I think it would be very neat to find a long lost relative and see how our family is doing and where we are at today. If you could get back to me I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!
