Hello!

My interest in genealogy began when I was in junior high school and realized that I could not name all of my great-grandparents. It was the start of a lifelong love of family history which melded perfectly with my love of history in general. The names and the dates are important, but the frosting on the cake is learning about occupations, pastimes, family stories, and proximity to events in local and world history. I love seeing photographs of the people and the places.

Genealogy has allowed me to "meet" the most interesting people I could hope to meet from all over the world. It has forced me to learn the basics of several languages and the cultures of many nations. Most of all, it connected me with world events that otherwise might not have interested me but now have great significance.
