My dear son & daughter Elias & Sarah Way not having rote to you for some time nor heard from you since Nathan Wolf got your letter which was welcome ? ?. We were truly glad to hear of your health and welfare & I hope these few lines may find you all enjoying a reasonable state of health. I would of rote sooner but Etta Fisher rote you a letter a short time ago. Thy lot Hiram rented it to Holly + Dan Cusman ? him the rent is not paid yet & this year I rented it to him again & [Mithlise?] went his security & after he had bailed? him? the people told him he would have it to mpay that scared very bad & he came down to my house & wanted me to let him off ?Felly deceived him. I told him I could ?

help it whether he will get ought of it or not I don't know I would not of let Kelly had it if I ? ? of had any other chance but I had n? it has t??d ought just as I told the before thee left it but the would not ? me know it will not sell nor rent to any advantage. Hiram rented it for 50 dollars I rented it for 50 dollars & h? to pay all the t? the weather we have had the wonderful sight of rain? & floods last thursday & night it rained most powerfully & sent the creek nearly all over the bottoms it has caused a most powerful sight of the fences away from that there it rained every ? day & night for the most part & looks very wet like yet there is a great deal of corn to plant yet Cyrus has not got any planted yet he was going to plant in the bottom but it seems if he would not get any planted at all.

Cyrus had all his wheat in the bottom but five acres & the flood was all over it. It was very rank & I expect it is very much destroyd it has been so wet we could not get through the bottoms to see how things looks. I believe nearly all our c? fences is ? them that how ? them? corn. I fear it will be nearly all rotten & washed ought what was planted on the hills. Samuel Way has had a hard spell of the inflamatory rheum ? he lay for several weeks he was not able to help himself in bed or out of bed he could not feed him self he suffered with extreme ? he got ought to meeting last ?day we have not heard from him since our little Eli is ? growing fast he eats like a grubber he is the most stiring noisy little fellow I most ever saw he is a great cryer.
