Where is Aaron's revolutionary war musket?

In Source:Van Benschoten, William Henry. Concerning the Van Bunschoten or Van Benschoten Family in America : A Genealogy and Brief History it states on pages 259-260:

Aaron's old Revolutionary musket passed to Daniel, thence to William Gardner and thence to his eldest son where the continuity breaks, sore's the pity.

And then on p. 339 in the section about John Murray Van Benschoten it says:

In his keeping is the Revolutionary musket of his great-grandfather Aaron.

This statement must have been accurate as of somewhere between 1879 (the birth of Nellie, which may indicate the last correspondence with the author) and 1907 when the book was published. The author has incomplete information about John Murray's children, so their last correspondence may have been towards the earlier end of that time span.

So where did it go from there? If it followed the male line it would have proceeded to Willis Clarence Benschoten, but may have gone to one of his daughters or to someone else.
