I started researching my ancestry about 10 years ago. I am touched by the reasons many of my ancestors came to the USA ... mostly religious freedom. Anabaptists, French Huguenots, Mennonites, Quakers and more. Some of my maternal ancestors arrived in Jamestown in 1610, which is, I believe, the first arrival of my family on this continent. I have been saddened to learn that many of my maternal ancestors 'owned' slaves. My earliest paternal ancestors settled in Pennsylvania first. The Internet has made my research possible and I want to share what I have learned so that my work ... and my family ... will be part of history and available to others free.
