Emigration vs Immigration

• Emigration is the act and the phenomenon of leaving one's native country to settle in another country. It is the same as immigration but from the perspective of the country of origin.
• Immigration is the act and the phenomenon of settling into another country after leaving one's native country.

Example:

• John Duletski immigrated to America from Russia.
• John Duletski emigrated from Russia to America.
