I am living near Cape Cod Massachusetts.
I'm researching the Foley and Murphy families who settled in Newmarket, New Brunswick Canada in the early 1800's. Because Irish records are few and far between prior to 1845, and my ancestors left Ireland in the 1820's and in 1844 I have been unable to break the brick walls and find any Irish records for John Owen Foley and his Wife Mary McDonald from Sligo, or for Dennis Murphy from Cork, although I do suspect he came from Newmarket, Cork County, he was a child when he left and I do not know his parents names.
I'm also researching branches of the family in Quebec, but this is difficult because my french is not too good. I enjoy collaborating with cousins who are also researching various branches of the family.
I work as a manager of several main frame programmers at an insurance company in the Boston area. I enjoy vacationing in the Beaufort South Carolina area where we have a condo. And hope to retire there someday.
I have recently joined geni.com, which is a great website for genealogy buffs.
