Hello, my name is Katie Gale. I was a technical writer for the Foundation for Online Genealogy (WeRelate.org) for a short time. My responsibility was writing and revising the help pages and video tutorials. Now I work for FamilySearch Indexing in Salt Lake City and I love my job!

I graduated in August from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Family History and Genealogy. My area of emphasis is Scandinavia, but I have also researched in New England and Eastern Europe. I recently finished an internship at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended the Federation of Genealogical Societies conference that was held there.

I am (according to the APG Quarterly) one of the whippersnappers in the genealogical field. I have only been doing serious genealogical research for about 2 1/2 years.

The main focus of my research thus far has been my ancestral family in Sweden. They have posed quite the research problem for me. My 4th great-grandfather, Anders Olsson Bergstedt, stated on records that he was born in Stockholm, Sweden. I have corresponded with the archives in Stockholm and Lund, Sweden, and have received nil responses from both. Ander's wife, Kjerstena, was born in Andrarum, Kristianstad, Sweden. The records in this parish burned in a fire in the 19th century and very few records remain from before the fire. These people don't seem to want me to find them or their parents. :)
