Have been a one-namer for over 30 years; researching Hebden and variants, Hebdin, Hebdon, Hepden, Hepton, Ebden, Ebdon, Epton. Hebden from the village of Hebden in Upper Wharfedale in originally West Riding of Yorkshire, now North Yorkshire. medieval family descended from Archill a Saxon Thane who was one of the leaders of the rising in 1069/70. Died out in the maled line in the early C15. Have established some 25 or so later families, none of whom have connected to the medieval family though two overlap. There are Hebdens in Michigan and Australia from one family, New Zealand from two others, and Canada from another, but have yet to identify the many others in the USA and Canada.
