Templates and their Uses

Group Templates: Templates that show the group of people that did something, like found a town (red header), immigrate together (orange header), or serve in a particular office (blue for political offices). The format is such that important information, such as sailing dates or common conditions, can be described in the template briefly and only once, instead of separately on each person's page. They go at the bottom of the page, in chronological order such as needed, following a <show_sources_images_notes/> tag. Repeating templates, like the Great Migration Ships, use form templates that allow the user to just specify the variables for each use.

Succession templates: These are currently based on Succession box, which is a five column row that allows you to show two predecessors and two successors for hereditary titles. At some point, it may be useful to have a three column version for non-hereditary titles, but group templates can also serve that purpose.
