Lady Agnes Stewart was a 16th-century Scottish noblewoman and possibly a royal mistress. She was the paternal grandmother of James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell, the third husband of Mary, Queen of Scots.

An illegitimate daughter of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Buchan (1442-1499) and his mistress Margaret, she was married thrice to members of the Scottish gentry, and had a relationship with James IV of Scotland, her half-first-cousin-once-removed. She may have been the mother of Lady Janet Stewart, an illegitimate daughter of James IV. Her father was the second son of Sir James Stewart, the Black Knight of Lorne, and Joan Beaufort, the dowager queen of Scotland. She had two legitimate half-siblings, Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan, and Lady Isobel Stewart of Buchan (who also may have been the king's mistress and the mother of Janet), and several full siblings including James Stewart, 1st Laird of Traquair (1480-1513).

Her first marriage, to Adam Hepburn, 2nd Earl of Bothwell, produced a son, Patrick. Secondly she married Alexander Home, 3rd Lord Home, and thirdly she married John Maxwell, 4th Lord Maxwell, one of the many Scottish nobles killed in the Battle of Flodden Field on 9 September 1513. They had at least eight children, one being Robert Maxwell, 5th Lord Maxwell, Regent of the Isle of Arran, Extraordinary Lord of Session, and one of the members of the council of Regency.

Lady Maxwell died in February, 1557
