Talk:The French and Indian War

Watchers

Interesting Title [26 April 2010]

Hi Q,

I was doing some searching and found this page in the search results. I expected a page about the French and Indian War, but it appears to be more about the F&I war from the perspective of Southwest Virginia. If so, should it be named to reflect this? Or if it really is supposed to be a general F&I page, then the SW VA header is a bit confusing. What was your intention? (I'm helping Dallan out with an article categorization project.) Thanks. -- jillaine 21:59, 14 February 2009 (EST)

While it was included as a SWVP page, it's coverage is broader than that. If you look at the articles it's pointing to it covers a variety of things. I don't believe I want to get into the business of making every article that somehow touches on southwest Virginia, into a page with Southest Virginia in the title. I can remove the SWVP logo, if that's really needed. Note also that this is more of a stub, though there's no stub warning. Q 16:04, 15 February 2009 (EST)

I think the 'go to' images and links should be at the bottom of the page, not at the top. I find it confusing to click on a link to a page about the F&I war and find what appear to be unrelated links at the top. My $.02. Jillaine 21:49, 26 April 2010 (EDT)
Perhaps it should be removed from the tapestry per se, since it does have broader appeal. Yet the article was intended only to support the Southwest Virginia project, and is slanted that way. In any case, as I get deeper into the design of the Tapesty, things have a way of changing. I now believe that this "over busy" and the links back to the various components of the Tapestry are probably not needed. I will think how best to handle this. Thanks! Q 22:42, 26 April 2010 (EDT)
