Williams, Ernest Russ, Jr. Genealogical Abstracts and Historical Abstracts of Legal Records of St. Helena Parish, Lousiana, 1804-1870. (Louisiana, Monroe: Williams Genealogical and Historical Publications, 1995).

The original St. Helena Parish covered a large area and stretched from the Pearl River to the Amite River and from the Mississippi line to Lake Ponchartrain. This comprehensive volume covers what are now parts of St. Helena, East Feliciana, St. Tammany, Washington, Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes. Many of these records have been lost over the years as the area was subdivided and courts moved from place to place.

There are three parts:

Successions (Probates and Wills), 1804 - 1854
Tax Assessment Rolls 1823, 1824, 1826
Marriages 1811 - 1870
