Rotemansarkivet

Rotemansarkivet är ett folkbokföringsregister för Stockholms stad 1878-1926. Rotemännen förde bok över alla boende i roten, deras inflyttning, utflyttning, födda och avlidna. Ofta finns noteringar om fattigvårdsunderstöd, om barnens skolgång, militärtjänstgöring m.m. i källmaterialet.

Rotemansinstitutionen upphörde år 1926.

Sök i databasen här på webbplatsen eller på de olika cd- och dvd-skivor som har publicerats. För närvarande finns rotarna på Södermalm, Gamla stan, Klara, Kungsholmen och stora delar av Östermalm registrerade. Brännkyrka som inkorporerades med Stockhom 1913, finns också för tiden 1913-1926.

Registrering pågår och Rotemansarkivet beräknas vara färdigregistrerat år 2016.

The Roteman Archives

The Roteman Archives is a population register for the city of Stockholm from 1878 to 1926. Rotemen collected records of all residents, their migration, emigration, births and deaths. Often there are records of poor relief benefits, children's education, military service, etc. in the source material.

The Roteman Institution was abolished in 1926.

Search the database on the website or in the various CD and DVD discs that have been published. Currently there are records for Södermalm, Gamla stan, Klara, Kungsholmen and much of Östermalm registered. Brännkyrka which was incorporated with Stockholm in 1913, is also available for the period 1913-1926.

Transcription of the records is ongoing, and it is estimated that The Roteman Archives Database will be completed in 2016.
