The Thomas Meredith Papers (MS1795) at the Maryland Historical Society contain personal and business financial records and correspondence of Thomas Meredith (1790-1853), a successful Baltimore dry goods merchant and active Catholic layman. The papers were donated by John Mason Rudolph, a collector, in exchange for books (1970). A Finding Aid exists.

The finding aid traces the evolution Meredith's business and includes information and references apparently gleaned from Baltimore City Directories. The collection does not include information on the Joseph H. Meredith referenced in the finding aid, nor does it suggest any relationship between the two men.

The papers also include several folders of materials not related to Mr. Meredith. These include:

  • Folder 4/Box 2 1772-1872 Misc. Correspondence & Legal Papers
  • Folder 5/Box 2 1805-1843 Papers Re: Nicholas Roeder and Ann Beck Roeder
  • Folder 6/Box 2 1860-1865 Documents of James and Isaac White
  • Folder 7/Box 2 1865 Papers Re: 4th Reg. U.S. Colored Troops

Genealogical information was abstracted from the collection in 2009.
