Usage Tips

Volume I is information about Illinois. Volume II is information specific to Kankakee county. In 1973, volume II was reprinted by Unigraphic, Inc., sponsored by the Kankakee Valley Genealogical Society. KVGS compiled an index for volume II and included it at the end of the 1973 reprint. If you are doing research by microfilm or physical book, it is advantageous to use the index included in the 1973 reprint.

The Family History Archives has online, free, volumes I and II. They can both be read online, page by page, and be downloaded. The download (printable) version for volume II is divided into three PDF files, 75MB, 75MB, and 47MB. This is a reproduction of a book from the original printing, so there is no index at the back, but the downloaded PDF files are searchable.
