Usage Tips

FHL catalog describes the book as: "James Cole (fl.1616-1668) married Mary Lopel in 1624 in London, England and immigrated to Saco, Maine in 1632, settling in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1633. Descendants lived in New England, New York, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, California and elsewhere."

(The marriage to Mary Lopel/Lobel has since been disproven by reference to the Barnstaple parish registers, which show the marriage of James to Mary Tybbs, as well as the christenings of their children James and Hugh. James Cole of Saco is also not a part of this family.)
