About This Resource:
"Staunton National Cemetery is located on Richmond Road (Route 250) approximately 1 mile east of the Route 81 interchange (Exit 225). The cemetery itself is not very large and is surrounded by a stone wall. There is a small caretakers house located to the right of the entrance and the driveway entrance is not very long as well. Mostly Union soldiers from the Civil War are interred here. There are a few veterans from later wars interred as well. The condition is immaculate, as all National cemeteries that I have visited. Additionally, there are quite a number of unknown soldiers that are buried here as well."
