Hong Kong Placement [2 February 2018]

Hong Kong has only been part of the People's Republic of China since 1997. Before that (since 1842) it had been a British colony.

I just came across a person travelling to China in the early 20th century. We can't very well say he was in Place:Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, but the way the page is set up there doesn't seem to be any alternative.

We don't have a country named China, but "China" would best fit the 1900-rule. --Goldenoldie 16:26, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
