Trout Creek, or Teedsville as it was referred to in Beer’s Atlas of Delaware County (Philadelphia: 1869), was the geographical-commercial center of the Rapalje Patent of 40,000 acres granted in 1770 by the Legislature of the Province of New York to Johannes Rapalje, merchant of New York
