Trent is a village and civil parish now in northwest Dorset, England, situated in the Yeo valley northwest of Sherborne and four miles northeast of Yeovil. The parish was located in Somerset until 1896 (source: GENUKI). The village has a population of 321.

The parish was part of Horethorne Hundred in Somerset. Once in Dorset it was in the Sherborne Registration District and the Sherborne Rural District. It includes the hamlet of Adber.
