Sterling City is a small community located near the Town Center of Hamburg in the Town of Lyme, New London, Connecticut, founded about 1709 by Deacon and Captain Daniel Sterling, formerly of Haverhill, Massachusetts. It should not be confused with the Town of Sterling, Windham County, Connecticut.
