St. Luke Registration District contained only the single parish of St. Luke Old Street located on the northern border of the City of London.

It was abolished in August 1869 and was absorbed into its western neighbour, Holborn Registration District in Middlesex. This area expanded greatly during the early 19th century as people moved north from the City of London, but the population density of the immediate area eased as the century went on and people continued to move northward into Islington and Hackney.

For more information see Registration Districts in London, an online database provided by UKBMD (United Kingdom Births, Marriages and Deaths--also known as FreeBMD). This list gives the preceding and proceeding registration districts and links to pages for each of the registration districts where the individual civil parishes and their dates of arrival and departure from the registration district are listed.
