Scottsville Cemetery is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Colonel Talbot Road and Ontario Highway 402 where the ramp to the highway is contiguous with Westminster Road which runs along the norther boundary of the cemetery. The cemetery does not appear on the township map in the 1878 county atlas but it would appear to lie in Lot 65 East (North Talbot Road), on the property of A. Jones whose name does appear on the 1878 map. The cemetery has been transcribed by the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) who suggested that the cemetery was started in 1817. A 1932 report of the cemetery board (cited by the OGS) indicated that it was then named the North Street Cemetery number 6 Westminster and that the chairman if its Board of Trustees was then Mr. Oliver Legg of 19 Broadway Avenue, Lambeth, Ontario. It then contained 1.5 acres, 215 plots and 265 monuments.
