Sandoval is a village in Marion County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,434 at the 2000 census.

History

Sandoval is located at the junction of U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 51. As US 51 is the central north-south route of the US Highway System, and US 50 is the central east-west route, in a sense this made Sandoval the "center" of the United States when the system was built in the 1920s.
