In 1882 the Augusta and Knoxville railroad was built through Greenwood, SC. In 1892 the' Seaboard Railroad was built through Greenwood, SC.The flag station was named Salak for the two railroads. Sal and Ak Salak. Feb. 21, 1953 Index Journal.
