Rotherham Rural was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire from 1894 to 1974.

The district was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 and covered a group of parishes immediately to the east and southeast of the borough of Rotherham and north of the area covered by Kiveton Park Rural District. Two additional parishes were to the northwest of Rotherham. It was abolished by the Local Government Act 1972, becoming part of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham when it came into being in South Yorkshire in 1974.

The main industry of the rural district during its existence was coal-mining. The pits were mostly sunk in the late 19th century and many continued until they were all closed during the 1980s.
