In the 1930's, Pearseley was a small rural area with several farms and a nearby school (Chapman School Section No.3) which was located on a small unused road off of Pearseley Road.

The Township of Magnetawan comprises the communities of Ahmic Harbour, Ahmic Lake, Cecebe, Cedar Croft, Chikopi, Dufferin Bridge, Magnetawan, North Seguin, Oranmore, Pearceley, Port Anson and Port Carmen, as well as the ghost town of Spence.
