Nottingham District or the City of Nottingham is a unitary authority in the county of Nottinghamshire, England, 128 miles (206 km) north of London, in the East Midlands. Nottingham District was originally formed in 1974 as one of the district municipalities of Nottinghamshire; it became a unitary authority in 1998. In 2015 it had an estimated population of 321,500.
