Northampton Priory of St Andrew is an extra-parochial place which became a civil parish between 1858 and 1909. Because it was extra-parochial it did not keep parish registers. Information of this sort will be found in surrounding parishes. However, it acted as a civil parish from 1837 until 1909 when these duties were taken over by the County Borough of Northampton.

It should not be confused with Northampton St. Andrew parish which was carved out of Northampton St. Sepulchre parish in 1842.

Northampton Priory of St Andrew is in the northern part of Northampton. It is bounded on the north by the parish of Kingsthorpe, on the east by Northampton St. Edmund, on the south by Northampton St. Giles, and on the west by Northampton St. Sepulchre.
