Newcastleton is a village located 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Hawick and 7 miles (11 km) east-northeast of Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway. It was a planned village built by the Duke of Buccleuch in 1793 as a community for handloom weavers. It lies on the Liddel Water in the former parish of Castleton in Roxburghshire.
