New Melle is a small country community in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. It is located about 37 miles west of St. Louis. The population was 475 at the 2010 census. New Melle is a sister city to Melle, Germany and celebrates its long German heritage.
New Melle was settled in 1839 by Lutheran immigrants from Melle and Buer near Osnabrück in the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany. They founded St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1844, which has church records from the 19th century and a cemetery.
