A Vision of Britain through Time only lists three ancient "boroughs" of Leicestershire: Mountsorrell, Hinckley and Leicester.

Mountsorrel North End and Mountsorrel South End were divisions of the ancient borough which each became independent civil parishes between 1866 and 1884. Mountsorrell North End's church was St. Peter's; Mountsorrell South End's church was Christchurch.
