  • "MONTCALM, a county in the west part of Quebec, bounded on the north-east by Joliette co., on the south-east by L'Assomption co., on the south-west by the counties of Terrebonne, Argenteuil and Ottawa, and on the north by the North West Territories. Area 3,942,400 acres. This county is drained by the Gatineau, Du Lièvre, Rouge, North, Lac Ouareau and other rivers. Capital, Ste. Julienne. Pop 12,131."
