McAlpines is located 3.93 km north-northwest of Queenstown (Pleasant Villa), on the Canadian National Railway to Lower Gagetown in Hampstead Parish in Queens County, New Brunswick. It was named Washademoak and had a post office by that name 1856-1874. McAlpine Post Office existed 1874-1890 with Nevin McAlpine as first postmaster. (Source:Place Names of New Brunswick)
