Marlborough is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States, in the southeastern corner of the county. The population was 8,808 at the 2010 census. U.S. Route 9W passes through the eastern part of the town. US Route 44 and NY 55 cross the northwestern corner of the town. The town was named after the Duke of Marlborough. [edit] History
A land grant (patent) of the territory was made to Captain John Evans of the Royal Navy in 1694. One of his first settlers arrived in 1697.
