Low Dutch Valley was an inhabited place in the valley of the south branch of the Raritan River located lower in the valley and southwest of Dutch Valley. It was then in southern Morris County and in Lebanon Township of Hunterdon County and straddles the border between Morris and Hunterdon Counties NJ. In colonial time this area was known as Dutch Valley (Wallace 1958) but it was later known as German Valley. During World War One, its name was changed to Long Valley NJ. Wallace, P.A.W. 1958.
