The Hooker Cemetery is on Co. Highway 623 about 3 Miles east and 2.3 miles north of Wayland Village, in Section 27. In Jan. 1840 the Hooker brother, William S. & Samuel B., bought the N. E. 1/2 of section 34 and settled thereon. This cemetery is near their farm. The stone of earliest date is that of Dorinda B. Hooker d. Apr. 14, 1850.
