Located in west section of Orleans, the old town cemetery was laid off when Orleans was founded in 1815, when Orange County was a part of Washington County and Indiana was yet a territory. There are a number of unmarked graves, and many inscriptions are too worn to decipher. The first burial was that of a German settler, Frederick Fesperman, who died in 1816. The cemetery is well kept, under the auspices of the Village Improvement Society. [edit] Location
