"A hamlet of N Angus, Dykehead is located at the foot of Glen Clova 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Kirriemuir. Just to the northwest lies Burnside Cottage, which was home to Dr. Wilson, who died with Captain Robert Scott in the Antarctic in 1912. The hamlet of Cortachy, with its 15th-century castle which is now home to the Earls of Airlie, lies a half-mile (1 km) to the southeast."
