Place:Dillard Cemetery, Red River, Texas, United States

This is a family graveyard located south of Avery off County Road 4430, a half-mile into the woods on the banks of Dillard Creek. There is no road and the woods are on private land. Texas law requires right of access to all cemeteries, but permission must be obtained from the owners -- and possibly an escort because the graveyard is difficult to find. There is no perimeter fence and some of the stones are damaged or partly buried. The earliest burial is that of William N. Dillard, who died 18 Jan 1865. There are twenty known burials and the cemetery is no longer active.
