The Tancook Island Baptist Cemetery is located adjacent to the Baptist Church just past the crest of Post Office Hill. The first section you come across is called the Old Cemetery which was established circa 1855 as the original burial area. When that ground became used up in 1900 the cemetery spread to the area now called the Young Cemetery. When the Young Cemetery was filled, a new piece of land was purchased from another family and was named the New Cemetery.
