[edit] DescriptionThis is the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, on the corner of Gomersal and Heinrich Rd, Gomersal. Gomersal was formerly named Schoenborn (beautiful spring) by the Lutheran settlers to the region in 1849. The township was renamed Gomersal in 1918. This church was opened in 1926. Located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.[1] Gomersal is not a German name but comes from Yorkshire. Until 1918 the area was known as New Mecklenberg but the name was changed during the First World War as part of the anti-German sentiment.[2]
