Alne (#2 on map) is a civil parish and a village in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England, about twelve miles northwest of York and four miles from Easingwold (#11). The parish has a population of 711 (2001 census).

The village lies 2 miles west of the A19 major road and immediately north of the River Kyle. The East Coast Main Line railway runs less than a mile to the east of the village.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Alne was part of Easingwold Rural District. Historically, it was an ancient and ecclesiastical parish in the Bulmer Wapentake and part of Easingwold Registration District.

As an ancient parish the nearby settlements of Tholthorpe (#28), Aldwark (#1), Flawith (#13), Youlton (#35) and Tollerton (#31), covering nearly 10,000 acres, were under Alne's direction. If the village did not have a chapel of ease or chapelry, the parishioners were expected to worship at Alne. To the northeast of the village used to be Alne Station which opened in 1841, but was closed in 1957. In the Middle Ages Alne Hall was the country residence of the treasurers of St Peter's [the cathedral] in York.
