Hi Jennifer

I also found some information about Person: Jerry Weidenaar (1) As you can see his mother is Bertha Tipstaar Person: Bontje Tibstra (1)

Also it looks like William and Lucy als are children of Bontje (Bertha)

Ah, nice find! I merged the families of Jan and Unknown and Jan and Bontje so Elke, Lucy, William, and Jerry are now all under one family. This Weidenaar family is a valuable Friesland-to-US connection to have on WR, so I'm glad that we're able to piece the facts together here. The ljbergema.nl site had some incorrect information about Jan's second wife Annie (incorrect parents). I found her true identity last night. --Jennifer (JBS66) 05:42, 31 May 2011 (EDT)

Halo Jennifer I have made a page for Family:Jurjen Weidenaar and Grietje Klugkist (1). Person:Jurjen Weidenaar (1) is the brother of Person:Jan Weidenaar (3) See the next link https://www.familysearch.org/search/recordDetails/show?uri=https://api.familysearch.org/records/pal:/MM9.1.r/MTPK-KBL/p9

i also made some pages of the family of Person:Grietje Klugkist (1) but there is a small problem. Grietjes mother Pieterke van Maar is born in 1840, but on her? grave her name is Pieterke Ver meer born in 1844. I wonder if they are the same person. Perhaps you can find more information then I can.

Hallo Paul, I added in a few bits of census data. I think that Person:Harmannus Klugkist (1) was not buried in Montana. The gravestone says "Buried in Grangeville Idaho" underneath his name. Harmannus went to Idaho (likely after his wife died) and lived with his son there in 1910 (in Denver Idaho). Denver and Grangeville are only a few miles apart. I do think that the Pieterke's are the same. Gravestones can be much less accurate due to second-hand information and, in this case, language differences. I did not find a death certificate or other primary source for her death. If I find anything else, I'll add it to their pages.
There is a book that you may find interesting about the immigrants to Gallatin, Montana: The persistence of ethnicity: Dutch Calvinist pioneers in Amsterdam, Montana by Rob Kroes. I just got it from the library, but have not started reading it yet. There is a preview of it available at Google Books. Many of the names you are researching, Klugkist, Weidenaar, etc are in there. --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:48, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
