Person talk:Theodorus Krabbenborg (3)

This one i don't get [6 April 2020]

(a) why is the marriage removed from this person? his death record clearly states that he was married. (b) why is the marriage with Hendrika Wibbels (Wubbels) removed? his death record clearly states that he was married to her.

there is nothing speculative about this marriage. so why are you changing an obvious fact, GayelKnott?

I am sorry i missed your notice of 19th March. But would you please give me some credits?

Over the years i have manually entered more than 20,000 person and marriage records. So perhaps i got it wrong with a handful. Why would you teach me first and thank me second, instead of thanking me first and offering me teaching second?

The capital first letter in the month is my trace of what i am working on the last two years; i search for 'mei' (May) and 'okt' (Oct) to find out which families i need to re-assess, because also the Dutch authorities are making progress, i send them 100s of corrections and they update the national and province genealogical records one batch at a time.

Can we please work together? And if i forgot to repair one or two in 20,000 entries, would you please forgive me for not repairing them immediately?

Thanks, Ron--woepwoep 20:20, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

Ron, the explanation for why both Person:Theodorus Krabbenborg (2) and Person:Theodorus Krabbenborg (3) were set as speculative husbands for Person:Hendrika Wibbels (1) was explained in a message to you over two weeks ago -- a message which you ignored even though you were online during that two weeks. The message acknowledged that there did seem to be a problem with the information for the two men. It also indicated that placing multiple husbands on a Family Page for a single wife was not accepted practice for WeRelate. Finally, the message asked how you wanted to resolve the problem, offering more than one possible solution, along with an offer to help with the technicalities if you would prefer.
Working together means that when you receive a message, you reply. You didn't bother to reply, even though you were still active adding other information on other pages. This is not working together.
As a Volunteer Administrator for WeRelate, it is my responsibility to deal with pages that the computer has flagged as Duplicate Pages. Given your lack of response, I moved both husbands to speculative husbands, which keeps them both linked to Hendrika, and allows you to access all three pages so that you can work on them whenever you want. When you have the problems in the information sorted out, all you have to do is change the correct husband back to the Family page and delete the Speculative Husband template from the incorrect husband. (This, by the way, is much less work for you than the work you have created for me.)
If you need to have a flag to track pages you are working on, by the way, all you need to do is have a standard text explanation in the text area for the page, something like "working on this page", or whatever, and you can search for that without having to rely on the lack of capitalization for month names. Your reason for not capitalizing month names may make sense to you, but it is definitely not clear to anyone else. Gayel --GayelKnott 16:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi Gayel, thanks much for elaborating. I must have seen your comment but then forgotten about it. Sorry about that. I want to thank you for leaving all options open by acting the way you did. My concern was that you would have undone the work that I did. Now i understand how you, contrarily, solved the situation which works for both you as an admin for WR and for me as a student. My respect for you has grown. So thank you for that.

In the coming period I will re-evaluate the pages and update them accordingly. Warmest regards, Ron woepwoep 02:57, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you, Ron. I don't think you are a "student" -- WeRelate is complex, and there is always something for any one of us to learn. The problems with [Person:Hendrika Wibbels (1)|Hendrika Wibbels]]'s husband did look a bit tricky. Good luck with your research. Gayel --GayelKnott 17:01, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
