Person talk:Susanna Page (3)

Following is an abstract of the will of Thomas Page. If this abstraction is a faithful one, then Susanna is the dau of Thomas, not John Page.

Abstract of Will of Thomas Page of Hawstead, yeoman, 13 January 1636/37

Commends soul to God trusting through merits of my sweet saviour Christ Jesus.......I give the poor people of Hawstead 20s to be distributed at discretion of my executor. Upon marriage with my new wife, Elizabeth I entered into a bond to pay her L11 p.a. for life and another L4 p.a out of certain lands in Finningham. In addition I now devise to her all the household stuff she brought with her at the time of our marriage in lieu of all demands on my estate.....I promised Thomas Lock L60 in consideration of marriage with my daughter Mary. I have already paid him L30 and I give him L30 more to be paid within a year of my decease. To son William L10 within a year; and to daughter Susan, wife of Thomas Gleason, L20 within 2 years. To son John the reversion of my two tenements of Finningham after my wife's decease....To son Joseph, L40 when 21....All the rest of my....charges being paid, I give to son Thomas and make him sole exercutor. Legatees have benefit of survivorship.

Witness: George Scarpe, Rebecca Page, Thomas Page. Pr. at Ixsworth, 11 Jul 1633 by John Syer to Exec.

William Page (likely the William mentioned above) of Watertown in his will, inventory 18 Jan 1664/65, also mentions kinsman, Thomas Leason. Also, his widow Anna's will 9 Sep 1685 mentions, brother-in-law Gleason & kinsman, Thomas Gleason.

I have merged this person with the daughter of Thomas Page (and unlinked her from John Page). Her brother William was incorrectly placed in the John Page family in Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, including Waltham and Weston (1860). I will be fixing (and merging) his record as well.--DataAnalyst 21:09, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
That this is the same Susan Page is given stronger evidence with an article on her husband's family, the Gleasons, in the NEHGR earlier this year. Ingham is near Hawstead which is near Cockfield, where Susan married in 1634 to Thomas Gleason. Their first 4 children's baptisms are also found in the Cockfield register.
