Death date [18 December 2010]

I question the death date of "27 Apr 1743 Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, USA" because this page did not have Sarah's second marriage shown. It would be impossible to have quality knowledge of the death date without being aware of the second marriage, and no source was shown, and no such death record is found listed in the Haverhill VRs (nor Newbury, where her second husband John Sawyer lived, nor Salem, where Samuel Sibley died) under either the name Sawyer or Sibley.

I would remove the date except I haven't located a replacement I have enough confidence in. Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of the State of Massachusetts, p. 3:1289, says "She died March 27, 1756." but the Newbury VRs don't have this death record, and show John's death on this same date, so one could speculate that Cutter got confused. Source:Appleton, William S. Some Descendants of William Sawyer, of Newbury, Mass, p. 4, also appears to give this 1756 date as Sarah's death date, but given that Newbury VRs say it was John, and the confusing syntax this source used, an argument could be made that they were referring to John, and not Sarah, when they gave this statement.

If John d. 27 Mar 1756, then probably his wife died on a different date. I have no evidence that it wasn't 27 Apr 1743, nor can I show that it was a different person that died on this date, since I can't find the death record this might be based on. So while I think it is doubtful, I can't say with certainty it is wrong. --Jrich 14:04, 18 December 2010 (EST)
