Not sister of 4 supposed brothers [28 August 2011]

There is a theory that 4 Mirick's of early New England - William, James, John and Thomas - were brothers, although there is only evidence to support a relationship between James and John. The Ancestral File places Sarah Miricke/Meyrick into the same family¹ or as a daughter of James or Thomas. Given the birth years of her children, she must have been born no earlier than about 1640, and thus is not likely a sibling of William, James, John and/or Thomas. Therefore, I have removed her from this family.

1. This is probably based on page 266 of Genealogy of the Merrick--Mirick--Myrick Family of Massachusetts by George Byron Merrick (1902), where the author mistakenly gives Sarah's marriage year as 1646.
